The City of St. George is launching its new 20–30 year Comprehensive Plan with a public event titled “A Conversation on Placemaking” featuring Jeff Speck, the nationally known city planner and author of Walkable City. The talk will be held Thursday, December 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Life Fellowship (10210 Barringer Foreman Rd). Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and admission is free. An RSVP link is available.

Earlier that same day, the City will host a series of focus groups at 14100 Airline Hwy, inviting residents, business owners, and stakeholders to weigh in on key community topics:

  • 10:30–12:00 – Economic Development

  • 1:00–2:30 – Mobility & Connectivity

  • 2:30–4:00 – Public Works, Safety & Infrastructure

  • 4:00–5:30 – Community Facilities (Parks, Recreation, Schools)

The evening placemaking discussion (about 45 minutes) will highlight ways St. George can improve livability and economic vitality through people-focused street and neighborhood design. Afterward, attendees will hear how to participate in shaping the Comprehensive Plan and will be invited to provide feedback on community priorities.

The City emphasizes that broad public input is essential and encourages everyone to attend and help shape St. George’s future.
